Freezing Thursday Night.
Lauren went home for the next few days because that effin’ b doesn’t have class tomorrow so I’m just being lame and sitting here tonight even though I should be at my lab. I missed my first lab last week because I ended up feeling really really sick (not just the usual feeling) and I decided that I’d rather suffer the consequences rather than throwing up in front of 50 people..cute right. So tonight I went to the lab early to see if I could get my spot back and the TA was really not helpful and didn’t offer much advice or the chance to just sit in on the lab..after missing two labs I figure that I’m sort of screwed so I think I’ll end up just dropping the lab because I really only need it if I decide to do nursing…which is basically a nono right now, especially talking to my mom and taking her personal advice. I don’t think that the field of nursing will really fit my personality right and as much as I want to be helping people, I don’t think that will be my way to contribute. Plus I love animals way more than humans.
Speaking of school anyways, I took my first cultural studies quiz the other day and completely bombed it…but luckily he said it was a totally unfair quiz and will only be grading it for completing it, yessss. I was just so frustrated because I feel like I’ve been working pretty hard with most things and to just start out that way wasn’t exactly promising. So now we will see how the essay for that class goes…if I don’t do well I’ll probably die because it’s sooo subjective and as long as we can support our inferences, I’ll be coo.
The dorm life has had it’s ups and downs but it’s basically been pretty fun and exactly what I expected. I sleep just as much as I did at home so I don’t know if that will ever change, but I’m also still a little sicky. Lauren and I have had fun enjoying some drama that we like to make up that entertains us basically. And we like to eat, what’s new :). We’ve also been working pretty hard to stay away from the freshman 15, and to even get into better shape by working out at the rec and of course walking everywhere. The rec is really really nice in comparison to what I expected and usually it’s not too busy when I’m there. My bike has also come in handy here to bike back and forth from watching cable at Curt’s apartment :). Curt just looooves watching E! with me…naaaahhht. But being able to bike 5 minutes rather than drive 30 minutes is sooo nice; it’s really something we’ve only been able to have during the summers when we’re at home.
I think I’m going home on Sunday to see my family and my puppieeeesss…and my brother’s hockey game :). Lauren and I are going to TML on saturday with some of her friends so that should be fun too…I love how precious the weekends are when school rolls around in the fall. I’m off to study a bit and maybe workout. Niiighhhttt
PS, Sarah Palin is a bitch because she doesn’t love the polar bears…eff you Sarah.
