Dear Michael and Courtney,
I have a lot of other things I should be doing…but I knew I would probably be dead by tomorrow if this didn’t happen :). So here it is for you to poke for at me for the rest of my life.
So last night Curt and I went to Tegan and Sara, and it was even better than the last time we went (probz because I didn’t get up like 6am like I had to before). Anyways, I’m obviously biased seeing as I already like their music, but these girls are super super cute and funny. For example, they told these stories about how their dad would take them ice skating even though the lake/river wouldn’t be completely frozen over and it would turn into this dangerous game with their dad…I just like when musicians tell stories and you leave remembering what real people they are. And of course, they played really well and had a wonderful setlist. I’m in love. Then we came back to Curt’s for a bit (michael & court: I almost caught a bunnbunn!). Then we went to too much love with a few girlsss and found that going to any club at 1am is probably always a bad idea..the place was FILLED with sleezeballs. But anyyy rate, we had fun. Def a good night. (except I would have liked some ice cream:)).
School has been so-so lately..mostly because I did terribly on my chem exam. Hopefully we’ll get our global politics test grades back on friday and I’ll feel a little more confident. Speaking of that class, it’s super interesting and I feel like a more intelligent for knowing why our world is so fucked up..but also that there is some hope out there that we can fix it hah. So, as the most unexpected interest ever, I’m considering polisci as a combination major with something else, or a minor. I’m going to explore my options for jobs and careers hopefully this week and see what comes up. My other classes are going pretty well, and I just read a “graphic novel” about the anti-lynching movement during the late 1890’s and early 1900’s…it was a refreshing way to look at such an intense subject. My cultural studies class is still pretty much a joke, but I’m getting pretty decent grades on my paper so I’m not too worried about it at this point. So, I just need to start dominating chem I guess haha.
Lauren and I really cleaned our room the other day and did our huge pile of dishes which made us feel better overall considering we only have this 15x20 room to work with…it seems so much better when it’s clean. And filled with candy and Halloween decorations (thanks to mama kielty). We also went grocery shopping on Friday and got really cute “spooky” dishtowels in the dollar section (btw, target has a great dollar section, i would really recommend it:)). We also worked out a couple of times last week which was good, although, we ended up talking about all of the food we miss from home, so that bitch went home today to stock up…i’m super jeal obvi. Next weekend I’m working an overnight shift at aerie to pick up some hours and then spending the weekend at home with mama and we’ve already decided that we’re eating good meals (and by good, I don’t mean healthy wise..) all weekend, and that calories don’t count on a girls weekend :). I’m super excited, althogh papa will be on a fishing trip (sorrrry dad).
On one last note, we have far less than a month before the election and early registration is due in MN on tuesday. So, register plz :). The campus is getting prettttty excited at this point although we have some work ahead of us…it’s going to be a lot a lot of fun I think. I’m probably taking election day off from classes to volunteer which one of my teachers was totally excited about and agreed that there shouldn’t even be work/class on that day, she is a wonderful woman :). Anyways, I’ve never been so passionate about something like this, but I think we have a chance to really make a difference, and we need it to say the least. I’m quite nervous for the repercutions that could take place if we don’t do as much as possible to prevent the McCain/Palin ticket from running the white house. This is it bby. (oh yeah, tegan and sara professed their love for barack and michelle last night…too bad they’re canadian :( ). Even mama loves her some obama :).
Mmk I need to get started on a cultural studies paper that hopefully I can finish tonight and not worry about tomorrow…because motion city is playing a free, open to the public acoustic show tomorrow on campus for Al Franken. Who will be there? Me and Tifffy :)
