Home Alone
No, not the movie, but literally I’m home alone this weekend. And since I’m such a party animal, I have spent most of it with my dogs and the TV..and a ton of food. Luckily I’ll be getting back to Lifetime soon because I need to work out. Everyday. So since I’ve only been watching TV all day (&cleaned), I mostly just feel like blogging about what I’ve been watching..so that’s the plan.
-Secret Millionaire- So on Thursday night I watched Secret Millionaire because we don’t have 23 at school and I have been sort of curious about it. Anyways, it’s basically where a millionaire visits a very poor part of town and finds a few people, organizations or groups that they’d like to help out and then they give at least $100,000 of their own money to one or more of the places they visited. They’re also forced to dress poorly and live off of welfare wages to survive to make it more “real.” I know it’s still reality TV, but I felt like this was actually doing something good for those who needed a little enlightenment and those who needed a little help. Really liked it…similar to Extreme Home Makeover in mentality.
-Real Housewives of Orange County- This has basically consumed my life all day today and part of me wish I could say that I hated it, but I am somehow pulled in. BUT here is the positive of watching gold digging, shallow, plastic women who would love to be in high school forever; I NEVER want to be like that as much as I joke about it. I never want to spend $2000 on one day at the spa, own a 6 million dollar house, or marry a man that’s my dad’s age. It actually makes me want to do everything the opposite. My favorite and most infuriating moment was one of the teenage girls talking about Berkely (where she’s a freshman) and she insults them all by calling them hippies, potheads, or poor. And then goes to practice shooting a gun and says that now she knows why she’s a republican…oh wait, it’s because you’re rich, spoiled, and only care about yourself. “On my 21st birthday, I probably won’t be drinking, I’ll be getting my handgun permit.” Scary much?
-Wife Swap- This has grown to be one of my favorites over a 2 day span. I really cannot help but laugh at how other people have to learn to live together. I also love how they manage to find the most bizarre families. That’s about all..just a good laugh :)
-True Life & Made- They neever get old. Unless it’s some bullshit like “I want to become a ninja vampire woman.” I guess I love seeing teenagers suffer in some way or another like everyone did/does.
Unfortunately I watch alot of reality television…but there isn’t much else on. Oh yeah, and there was a show like 2008: The Year in Animals which I obvi ate up..love it. And Elf. It’s been a good weekend so far! I did go out last night, so I’m not THAT lame. Now my dog is staring at me and barking…h8 this.
